Storyville

So I took Joaney to Storyville along with Carly's kids (Kate and Mady). I was totally unprepared for last weekend. I knew it wasn't gonna be cold so I took all of Joaney's jackets out of the bag before I left the house. Of course it was fairly chilly last weekend. We took a boat load of pics last weekend. These are a few of those photos in all their unshopped glory. Kids are so photogenic! Now I know why you rarely see parents in front of the lens besides being boring, life has beaten us into a bloody pulp and it shows, speaking only for myself of course. Carly is freakin' hot but I usually don't post pics of her that she doesn't approve first. Do unto others right? Carly and I took turns with the camera. This was her first time using a dslr and she took some really good pics. I am impressed. Let me know what you think of these.
Feel free to comment on the blog itself, you would do it if it was my facebook wall.

Macro Wide Tilt

I recently picked up this Neewer wide angle/macro lens for dirt cheap. I figured what the hell, how bad could it be? Being set back on the T3i, I didn't have a lot to spend so this was right up my alley. I didn't see Neewer around last time I owned a T3i. At that time Bower made some good cheap flashes. I just picked up a Neewer flash and ir remote for cheap also. I took these shots before going to bed last night. I dig the lens. The wide angle lens has a tilt-shift dreamy effect to it. The macro has an extremely shallow depth of field which will definitely require a lot of control to use it for video. I had these 2 lenses attached to my nifty 50 f1.8. I had to use a Bower 52-58mm adapter ring to attach this lens. I definitely see this adding a new dimension to my videos soon. Let me know what you think in the comments.

New World

So I told you the other week that some big things were changing around me. At least things I perceived as big. I got rid of my truck and got something more fuel efficient. Meet Darth Honda! It's the phantom Menace of family vehicles cause the bitch is blacked out! My brother gave me a kick ass Darth Maul figure to put on the dash (pics soon, like you care right?)
I got this Washburn Dimebag 333 guitar during Christmas (present from my brother). I've wanted one of these since they came out. It's everything I've wanted it to be. Since my brother is going back to Cali soon I knew I would be tracking my own bass lines soon so i bought a 5 string bass so I can tune low (and kick ass). These instruments are so sick and the money I saved on these instruments allowed me to get my fav camera back (Canon T3i). How you think I took these pics?

Needless to say I'm gonna be broke for a while. the note on the CRV isn't bad though. The gas mileage and note are barely more than I was paying in just gas for the 2001 Silverado. The Silverado was a bit more spacious but everything has a season. Try to roll with it.

Different feels so different

Not to say different is bad. Taking on difference just requires an open mind. Part of my immediate world changing is me aquiring my T3i again. I love this camera. Had to sell it a while back to move to Mandeville. I love the new trend that is light painting. This camera allows me to do everything I could dream of. The canon T3 is a turd, don't waste your time. Do some research.
The canon T3i allows me to film at higher frame rates while at higher resolutions than more cost efficient cameras.
Back on topic. I will try to post on the major differences in my life lately, tomorrow (with pics). We (Carly and I) did some light painting photography this weekend. i won't post the pics I took of her cause i don't know how comfortable she is with them yet. She's only seen them on the 3 inch lcd on the camera which is not as intimate as what you are viewing it on most likely. So you get to look at me, alone.

Life changing

It's funny how it feels like some physical things define you. i have a full size chevy truck I have enjoyed for a few years now along with a red Ibanez electric guitar and an acoustic guitar.I feel like objects subtly coerce us to do things a certain way. Depending on how I am seated in a vehicle I will drive faster or slower. I liked driving fast in my truck. My red ibanez pulled me towards sliding octave riffs and full out shred lead guitar.
I've never sold two objects that I have so much interest in at the same time. Never wanted to. Everything changes eventually. I find myself in a new life now, like a newly formed planet with planets shifting suddenly most of the time with little notice. If you have ever experienced this "re-inventing" by choice or not you find your priorities/wants/needs change quickly also. So of course these objects will have to be replaced with something more tailored to who I am now. I think I found them too. I'll post them once I get them. Anyway, goodbye old friends.
